About One Past 5

The inspiration for the Historic Denver, Inc. and National Trust for Historic Preservation's One Past 5 preservation happy hours was to allow our guests access into historic spaces that most have never had the opportunity to explore; in the process educating a new generation about the historic preservation efforts that help define Denver as a city that respects its past as it moves toward the future.

First time One Past 5 attendees receive a free annual membership and the opportunity to get more involved in saving the places that matter to Denver. Scroll down (or visit Historic Denver's facebook page) to see photos from our 2009 and 2010 OP5 events.

Thanks to all who made our March 25th One Past 5 preservation happy hour at the historic Malo Manison a great success!

The circa 1920 Malo Mansion at 500 East 8th Avenue is a historic landmark whose colorful list of previous owners have included milling magnate Oscar Malo, the Catholic archdiocese, real estate investor Trenton Parker and millionaire heiress Swanee Hunt. Current occupants, the architects of Buchanan Yonushewski Group, and your hosts, Historic Denver, Inc. and National Trust for Historic Preservation, openend those storied doors for a 20s jazz-themed gathering in tribute to the era in which the mansion was built.

Thanks, especially, to our sponsors:  Lala's Wine Bar + Pizzeria, Republic National Distributing Company Liquor, Nordstrom, Scarlet Salon, the National Trust’s Historic Hotels of America and music sponsor KUVO Jazz 89.3 and the Wendy Fopeano/Marc Sabatella Duo

One Past 5 - The Denver Press Club, November 5, 2009

The Denver Press Club (1330 Glenarm)- place of history and mystery - was the scene of Historic Denver & the National Trust for Historic Preservation's latest One Past 5 happy hour. The city's most colorful characters have sipped & noshed & networked at this elusive place for nearly a century, and on November 5th, Denver's young preservationists joined them in swanky droves.

Many thanks to all who made the evening a success - all who attended, our OP5 Committee and our incredible sponsors:  The Denver Press Club, Solera, Nordstrom, Sean Tolliver, Al's Barber Shop, Jerri's Tobacco Shop & Fine Wines and Svdeka Vodka/Republic National Distributing Company.
